From April 2 to 4, 2025, Green Synergy Cluster was a part of the 3rd ISE Community of Practice (CoP) gathering, held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. For these 3 days the conference became a hub of innovation, collaboration, and collective action. Hosted by CENER21 and co-organised by Community4Innovation (which GSC is a part of) and Dialogue4Innovation, this key gathering brought to life the mission of the ISE: to amplify the impact of sustainable, circular, and innovative solutions across the Mediterranean.
The ISE (Innovative Sustainable Economy) is one of the four thematic missions within the Interreg Euro-MED Programme, which aims to promote sustainable development in the Mediterranean region through transnational cooperation. It had within its scope 14 Thematic Projects (TPs) and 2 Governance Projects. At the conference, these 14 projects had the chance to present their activities and their achievements in order to connect, learn, share, and collaborate with each other. After their presentations, they participated in Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) based on structured discussions leading to White Papers on the 4 focus areas of the Mission:
- Marine Resources
- Industrial Transition
- Agri-food Systems
- Resource Valorization
Throughout the sessions, participants worked hands-on to:
- Explore project synergies and identify collaborative opportunities
- Share innovative approaches in sustainable economic models
- Engage in structured discussions within newly launched Thematic Working Groups (TWGs), set to produce White Papers on the four key focus areas of the ISE Mission
A highlight of the programme was a focused training session on practical approaches to influencing citizen behaviour—a topic of high interest among the project partners. Most of the thematic projects have activities focused on studying and finding ways to influence citizens, so having the opportunity to exchange their experiences and perspectives proved to be one of the most fruitful aspects of the program.
The Sarajevo event marked a meaningful step forward for the ISE CoP. It reaffirmed the value of face-to-face collaboration, deepened the sense of shared purpose among partners, and set the stage for more strategic, community-driven progress toward a sustainable and innovative Mediterranean. Thank you to all who took part of this gathering and we will see you at the next Community4Innovation event.
