Green Synergy Cluster is an associate partner in the project Center for Competence Intelligent Mechatronic, Eco- and Energy Saving Systems and Technologies.

The project establishes a Center of Competence by uniting the efforts of innovation clusters and seven leading research organizations and universities in Bulgaria. The Green Synergy Cluster partners with the Technical University – Sofia, Plovdiv branch for the implementation of innovative laboratories and for the successful commercialization of the results of the planned research work in the priority for the Bulgarian economy area “Mechatronics and clean technologies” defined in the Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization 2014 – 2020 (ISIS) and in particular in the field of Smart Cities.

The main activity is conducting market-oriented research by leading researchers and their teams in two areas: “Intelligent Mechatronic Systems and Technologies” and “Energy Saving Systems and Clean Technologies”.

The project envisages as a first stage reconstruction and modernization of buildings or parts of them together with the purchase, installation and commissioning of high-tech equipment, specialized software, tools to help their establishment and operation in laboratories, training halls and work rooms – parts from a Center of Competence that is of interest to Europe.

At the same time, activities will be carried out to attract leading researchers and specialists from Bulgaria and abroad to work together, to exchange ideas and experience in research and training of future generations of scientists.

The results of research conducted at the Central Committee will be widely published in international scientific journals, symposia, seminars and conferences. This part of them, which has direct practical application or represents experimental development of equipment and technologies, will be provided to the Technology Transfer Committee for coordination of activities for protection of intellectual property rights and their subsequent commercialization.

The project envisages the supply of research equipment worth BGN 9.8 million. A total of 20 scientific laboratories will be operational.
